Personal update, Oktober

Friday 7 October 2011|General, Personal

This update was written on monday, meantime Anneke and Jackson’s daughter is born. Her name is Hope Shekinah Ndecheck.

Dear family and friends,

Today was the first day of the last University quarter of 2011. About 570 students including their children and 300+ staff gathered together for an amazing time of worship this morning. It was amazing to see over 42 different nations represented, all praising the Lord together. I was happy to be a part of this, however I couldn’t stand on my feet the whole time because the baby is getting more and more heavy in my stomach.

Last Monday Sept 26th we went for check up in the hospital and I was already 3 cm dilated. They kept me a little while for observation to see if labor would start, but the contractions didn’t come yet. The baby was all fine though and is in the right position to come out. I was sent home with the message that the baby could be born anytime from immediately to about 2 weeks. So I called my mum who was planning to arrive here on October 4th and told her about the situation. She immediately made the decision to change her ticket, which was a bold step as she now had to travel a 31 hour journey instead of the scheduled one day trip. I was happy she made it here by Thursday, though she was very tired and hungry from all the travelling. We had a nice breakfast together and after a time of resting she started cleaning our house and doing the laundry in preparation for the baby. I am really blessed with such a mother of course . The stomach “cramps” or “almost contractions” are continually increasing, however I am not having any regular pattern yet, serious enough to go to the hospital, so we are
patiently waiting and resting till the appointed time.

The baby’s corner is looking very nice now, and we have all the things I could think of that we would need initially. We ordered most of the things online because there is not a lot of baby stuff for sale here in Kona and if it is for sale it is usually cheaper online. So I ordered a baby bath. The funny thing was instead of sending 1 bath, they sent me a box of 6 baby baths . Jackson commented “you know my love, I really like the baby bath, but do we need 6?” hahaha…. It was of course a mistake from the manufacturer as I had not paid for 6, so we returned the other 5 recently. Apart from that all the other products have arrived as ordered.

Friday Jackson passed his road driving test, which now makes him a full licensed driver!! I was soooo thrilled, because this means that whenever the baby and I need something he is now able to get it at any time.

He also started his Hebrew studies online where he just learnt the complete alphabet and they are learning to read Hebrew starting in Genesis 1:1. Apart from his Hebrew studies he is continuing with the Inductive Bible Studies outreach, teaching about 4 times a week in different schools/churches. It is doing what he loves and people are so blessed by his teachings.

Because of the unexpected acceleration in the pregnancy I rounded off my work with Darlene for the time being. After my maternity leave I can start picking things up again, but for now I am officially on maternity leave. With my mum here it is great that I don’t have a full program!

So I hope the next update on the site will be the birth of our son/daughter…..

Love and blessings,

Jackson & Anneke
