Dear family and friends,
We would love to give you an update on how our 3 month outreach in Fargo- North Dakota as we are almost halfway!
After our first weeks of being in the office with Impact World Tour, learning all about the evangelism and discipleship program and joining them in their efforts to engage the local Fargo community we were taken on a mini-outreach with an Impact team called “GX” (generation X). They are a group of skateboarders, hip hop dancers and break dancers between 15-25 years old who love Jesus and want to use their gifts to reach unbelievers with the gospel . We joined GX in their 10 day tour across 3 different states; North Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin. In every state venues had been prepared where the team would perform their show and local churches would join in facilitating the program. The show would be a combination of skateboarding, break and hip hop dancing mixed with the personal honest testimonies of the artists on how the Lord Jesus had saved them. Every night would end with a call to repentance and an opportunity to receive Jesus for the crowd of mostly youth in the age range of 4-25. The church members who had volunteered to help would then connect with the youth who had responded to the gospel so that after the event they could follow up with discipleship programs. Jackson and myself were amazed to see a total of around 1200 people hear the gospel during these 10 days and over 600 young people responded with a complete surrender to the Lord. Some re-dedicating their life to Jesus, some giving their life for the first time. We were privileged to also connect and pray with some of the young people who responded and I was struck so much by the faith of an 8 year old girl who said she was being bullied in school. She had given her life and knew Jesus was going to fight for her and that He did love her just the way she was. During these conversations and events I just felt such a love that the Lord has for the children and that He wants all of them to hear His message of hope so they can respond to it. The team was preaching in a school when literally all the under 12 year olds RAN to the front to give their life, they didn’t need any encouragement, God’s love had touched them without hesitation.
During this time we are staying in a host home with a wonderful family who are treating us like their own children. We feel really blessed and love the fellowship we have together.
The pregnancy is going well, the first four months have passed and my belly is really coming out now. We heard the baby’s heartbeat and that was so amazing. We are really looking forward to receiving this new family member mid-October. Anneke has gotten more energy and the nausea has subsided, however her low blood pressure sometimes puts her off balance a little bit so she has to eat a lot of salty snacks (which of course she doesn’t mind at all!!). We are both enjoying the time we have together as a couple as we are now involved in the same ministry. During this season we are making further plans concerning our vision for Calabar Nigeria and we have also gotten some divine connections with people here in Fargo.
In short this outreach is a refreshing reminder of God’s heart for this world and a time of preparation regarding the work we want to be doing in Africa.
We thank you for all your prayers and support.
Blessings,
Jackson & Anneke Ndecheck
